Your passion for art will shine while working with marginalized students in a local Dominican community.
The school was founded in 2000 with the goal of creating a new model of public education- focusing on art and training for tourism-related professions. Their goal is to provide basic secondary and professional technical education to marginalized students, while also teaching Catholic values and traditions, so that their students become active and creative participants of Dominican society. The school serves 1,400 students in an industrial-residential area.
You will be guided and supported by the school staff while taking part in orientations upon arrival, during mid-stay, and at the end of your stay. During these orientations, you’ll learn about the importance of relationship-building with your host family and local community. The program also welcomes new ideas and suggestions by volunteers.
