Program Description
This is an innovative program, which aims at providing students with a rich cultural experience in the middle of the stunning Brazilian Amazon.
In this eleven-day-program, students will have a cultural tour through Manaus (the main city of Amazonas state) for sight-seeing and a bus trip through the middle of the Amazon forest highway. Then, participants will go trekking to a sand cave where there are albino small fishes, and will visit the Sanctuary Waterfall, where students can swim. Also, there will be a thrilling six days boat expedition in the Amazon jungle through the Amazonas and Negro Rivers.
During this expedition, students will have an alligator night spotting, a visit to a casa de farinha (where the whole manioc powder and tapioca production processes take place) and a fishing experience, including Amazon piranhas. In addition, they will watch the joining of the waters of these rivers.
Moreover, in the last days, students are going to have a fabulous cultural experience! They will visit a community of Caboclos (natives from Amazon), try to make Indian handcrafts from Amazon. But that’s not all, they may also swim with pink dolphins and get to hear about the myths around this mystic animal.
When arriving and leaving Manaus, students will have a staff team to help them out, and a transfer from the airport to Hotel and vice versa.
Please remember! The Amazon forest is the planet’s lung and if you don’t care about it, the Earth will slowly stop breathing. Therefore, please don’t trash in the forest, and be careful with the animals because they are in their habitat. Please let’s take care of our fauna and flora.
